BSE/TSE: With regards to BSE/TSE, suppliers for Tropack products ensure the condition of tallow treatment meets manufacturing requirements such as those stipulated in ISO 22442-1:2020 (Medical devices utilizing animal tissues and their derivatives), Section 6.4 of “Note for minimizing the risk of transmitting animal spongiform encephalopathy agents via human and veterinary medicinal products (EMEA/410/01 Rev 3)” (2011/C 73/01), and Annex I, part 3 of Commission Regulation (EU) No. 722/2012 “concerning particular requirements as regards the requirements laid down in Council Directives 90/385/EEC and 93/42/EEC with respect to active implantable medical devices and medical devices manufactured utilizing tissues of animal origin”, specifically hydrolysis at not less than 200°C for not less than 20 minutes under pressure. As such, the products do not contain substances considered at risk for transmitting BSE/TSE. |
